The 25 Under 25 award was established by the Media Development Foundation in 2023 to recognize the achievements of emerging media professionals and support them at the outset of their careers.
This award aims to integrate nominees into the Ukrainian media community while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among young media professionals. Through this initiative, MDF seeks to acknowledge the contributions of young media makers, encourage their continued growth in the industry, and highlight their impact on shaping public discourse. Additionally, the award underscores the role of young journalists in influencing national events through their reporting and media activities.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to:
- Journalists, editors, and media managers under the age of 25.
- Candidates who uphold journalistic standards, work in independent media, and adhere to ethical journalism principles.
- Individuals whose work contributes significantly to the development of independent journalism, the media landscape, or the communities they serve.
Nominations can be submitted by editorial boards, the candidates themselves, or other individuals. The selection committee then reviews the submissions and identifies 25 winners.
